"My Zipper broke on my new leather while on a ride, I road in saturday with Bungie cords keeping it around me freezing, they had trouble getting ahold of the warranty dept. because of It being saturday. "Steve delivered our Sportster Iron and accessories yesterday. We were like kids at Christmas - pretty exciting! This weekend is installing the accessories, reading the owners manual again and getting acquainted with every aspect of the bike. I graduate from the Riders Edge on Monday and will head to the DMV to take the written test. Then we ride, ride, ride! "5 stars is not high enough rating to cover the most pleasing purchase of my biking journey. On 9 November, 2010 Kathleen and I completed the deal on a brand new 2011 TriGlide Ultra Classic trike. It is the most outstanding machine of the three H-Ds I've owned since 2005. I was going to go with the basic Vivid Black color scheme, then this brillant Merlot SunGlo/Vivid Black beauty met us on the shop floor. It was "love at first sight"! The entire Open Road staff we delt with was outstanding in making us feel welcome and processing the purchase quickly. Their knowledge of the product and process was superb. They explained every detail and answered all our questions in easy to understand terms. Special thanks to Mike (Sales), Becky (Parts), Monica (Finance), and Steve (Back Shop). They each performed their parts of the deal with great zeal. They, and all members of the Open Road team are invaluable to the H-D experience. "My husband & I purchased two 2008 105th anniversary bikes. A Streetglide & a Roadglide. Pete set up a time with Tim on a Satuday. We were able to sit down and take our time to pick out our accessories. What I think was a "plus" was Tim was well aware of what bikes in the dealership had this and that on them. If we weren't sure about a accessory, Tim would say "let's walk up stairs or in the garage, I have a bike that has that on it" and away we went. Seeing things first hand just helps us feel we made the right choice. Also when picking an item out, Tim would inform us of things he might have learned that we might not be happy with down the road. He would inform us, but leave the final decision up to us. It's just knowing that it's not only about Open Road selling an accessory to a customer, it's about honesty and experience that Tim and Becky have to keep the riders comfortable, safe and have "hot looking bikes". We tell all of the people admiring our bikes that we purchased them at Open Road. My husband and I have both purchased Harleys in our lifetime by a total of 5 other dealerships. "I would like for someone at Harley to acknowledge the GREAT job the members of HOG roadside assistance and for the EXCELLENT service the people at Open Road have for getting a fellow rider back on the road on our way to Tomahawk. Yes we froze are faces but it sure beat the hell out of sitting on the side of the road. OK, Here’s my story. On our way up to Tomahawk we had to pull off the highway to make some minor adjustments to a trailer. Thankfully so, when one of our crew pulled in on the clutch lever it was flopping in the breeze. We did our best to diagnose the problem, but lack of tools and knowledge left us at a dead end. Luckily he had roadside assistance, he called and they had a tow and mechanic set up for us. It wound up being a tranny adjuster nut that spun loose but did not come off and cause all kinds of damage and really ruin our trip! The point I would like to make is the folks at Open Road Harley-Davidson had us in and out in less time than it took to tow the bike to them. I just want to say a public THANK YOU to all involved!
